Blobsquatch caught on Michigan webcam

Here is a fun story with video. A live web camera trained on a bald eagle nest revealed a dark figure walking among the trees below. The object is too far away to be in clear focus but there is little doubt it is not a bear. Speculation erupted that it is Bigfoot who ever so conveniently appears in the upper left corner and leaves no other evidence of his existence in this area of Beulah, Michigan. Skeptics will be skeptical.

Take a look.

The best coverage of the story is from Detroit Free Press. They explain the video is not new and was posted to a Bigfoot forum site several months ago, sometime after the video was captured in May. An editor of CarbonTV, an outdoor channel, noticed the post and publicized the video which currently has over 600K views. Many people will accept that it’s a Bigfoot because they want very much much to believe it. However, the skeptical view has not gone unrepresented online. Many commenters noted that a person could rather easily dress in dark garb and estimate where to walk to be seen in the live cam to become the latest blobsquatch sensation. It would not take much effort to produce this hoax.

Bigfoot professor Dr. Jeff Meldrum withholds judgment on the clip saying: “It is an interesting video, but remains just that, given the lack of scale and detail in the image of the figure.” It doesn’t offer solid evidence. Overall, there remains inadequate evidence and little plausibility for a large unknown bipedal ape to exist anywhere in the world.

While there have been Bigfoot reports in Michigan, according to the Michigan Bigfoot Information Center, there were no reports from Benzie County which is a sparsely populated area near the shores of Lake Michigan known for outdoor activities. But the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization contains 5 reports from this area from the mid-1980s, 1998 and most recently 2010. However, they are anecdotal as are most cryptid sightings and can’t be considered verified or evidence of anything except someone’s perception or imagination. In order to seriously consider something genuinely odd is out there, we need much more than grainy video. Only DNA, but preferably a body, is required.

The Eagle Cam was situated near the Platte River state fish hatchery.

Bigfoot doesn’t seem very surefooted in that video, maybe he or she had been hitting the fermented apples.

One thing that caught MY attention, was all the loud, seemingly close, bird sounds, yet the eaglets never move in any manner that suggests vocalization (and very little in any other matter all together).

After watching it a few times, it very well could be a guy dressed in that duck blind netting, and his slight hesitations could be the netting getting caught on debris. My brother wore that netting on halloween one year, while sitting on a pike of junk on his front porch. Scared the crap out of people. It was great.

Good point. I’ve watched eaglets before on eagle cams, and these were very suspicious-looking…not moving at all at the end.

Cryptomundo promoted this a couple of months ago. It was pronounced genuine by believers. They average two a week like this over there.

I think it was a clown dressed in black, or disguised as bigfoot.

Maybe Bigfoot will come down from the woods and scare away the clowns!

Bigfoot vs. Clown, next summer on Doubtful TV!

The eagles may not be moving, but the individual blades of grass surrounding them are blowing in the wind. Likely sleeping. Not saying its Bigfoot, I am pretty confident its just a person, but you’re looking too hard to try and find proof of a fake and you’re missing the forest for the trees.

I understand your point, but it was just something that stood out to me immediately. Since then, a little more research has shown me the vocalizations sound much like adult eagles and one or more could indeed be nearby, but off camera. The fact that someone is walking nearby would also explain the frequency of such calls. So, probably not as weird as I first thought.

Yeah if this was in the spring, could be someone looking for Moral mushrooms too.

Had this video been submitted in a murder trial as the main evidence identifying a suspect the prosecuters would have had a very hard time trying to convince a jury.
What would any of the bigfooters say if one of them had been the suspect in such a trial “it’s a fair cop I done it”?

    Let’s be reasonable here.
This is a prank, the person knows where the camera is from seeing it on the internet and the area that’s visible in the shot, dress up and go …. become famous … end of story.

Looks like hardly anything more than a drunken trekker.
