I tried to read the Texas GOP link but broke a tooth while grinding the rest of them. For an ‘advanced’ and ‘civilised’ nation, you people really scare the pants off the rest of us. I’m not gay but I fail to understand what someone’s sexuality has to do with anybody else. The idea that it can be ‘cured’ is a pathological descriptor that denies the humanity of those who identify as gay. Should we work towards curing skin colour as well? Barbaric ideas, and shameful. Seriously, many people outside the US are REALLY worried about the stone-age thinking that seems all too prevalent in the US.

Many of us in the U.S. are also worried.

This is the same Texas GOP that is officially against critical thinking.

How can anyone be surprised by this?

The GOP in general, but specifically the Texas GOP, has a long proud history of willfully ignorant ideology over evidence-based policies.

Personally, from a human rights/civil rights perspective the nature vs. nurture argument is irrelevant.

If one is born, or chooses, to be a homosexual doesn’t matter. It’s that one has the right to be who they are, regardless.

I feel badly for the good people of Texas who are stuck with these evil people in the GOP. They can’t rise up fast enough if you ask me.
