I also thank you for that image. People who don’t believe in the law (or Constitution) should not be protected by it.

No, they should always retain their constitutional rights. Ignoring rights is how we get renditions, torture, and Guantanamo Bay.

But these law-deniers should definitely be mocked for their hypocrisy (or stupidity — whichever is the best fit). If they’re going to invoke the First Amendment, we get to use it too!

That cellphone jammer was actually doing (in a small way) a service. The amount of un enforcement going on while drivers shoot by ON the phone, nearly or running over pedestrians in this area is ridiculous. Hell. I’d reward him $48k if I had it- possibly more.

“Florida doesn’t have any law banning motorists from using mobile phones while driving.” *facepalm* If anyplace NEEDS laws….

If the Jackass you’re referring to in the caption is Cliven Bundy, that’s not him.

It makes me wonder how the government, and FOX “news” would react if Bundy, and his lot, were African American?

Would the government be practicing restraint? Would FOX be using the word “terrorist” rather than “patriot” and “hero”?

It’s pretty scary how these self-entitled, angry, well armed white folk are all raged up, and ready and willing to kill.

Jon Stewart made the same point about Fox while juxtaposing two photos, one showing two Black Panthers standing harmlessly outside a voting station, and one showing a militia sniper Bundy supporter pointing his weapon at federal agents.

I want one of those cell signal jammers! I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. the province has implemented laws preventing the use of cell phones (and any other electronic devices) while operating a moving vehicle. HOWEVER, every day I see people making sudden stops at red lights, flashing crosswalk signals, etc., they failed to notice while looking at the phone in their laps. Hands free wifi and blu-tooth units are widely available. Drivers should buy those and avoid my having to mutter “Dude, nice car. Shame it will soon be very wrecked.”

John Logie Baird? Inventor of television?

Philo Farnsworth invented the first all-electronic television, which became the TV system used by everybody.

    *sigh*
Yes, I know all the “yay we should put cell phone jammers on the road!” comments are just bluster, but still – think before you write. Besides the obvious negative effects pointed out in the article, do you have any idea how many systems use cell phone networks for communication nowadays? We’re talking everything from house alarms to telemetry systems to medical alert systems. If you’re jamming cell phones, you’re disrupting critical infrastructure. The guy deserves every dollar of that fine.

Be hit by someone on one, and have to flee for your life nearly daily because the driver doesn’t stop, doesn’t look, and simply doesn’t CARE- and your tune will change.

What happens when you ARE hit, and you can’t call an ambulance?
