Ambitious year-long paranormal investigation of museum

So… this investigation… I’d love to see a writeup when it’s done.

Ghost hunters launch year-long paranormal investigation at Solent Sky museum in Southampton

Paranormal investigators who have launched a year-long investigation after staff and volunteers at Solent Sky in Southampton claimed to have seen ghostly figures and heard mysterious noises.

Some of the unexplained occurrences include hearing the sound of people running on the museum floor late at night when no-one was inside.

The investigation will be carried out by ghost-hunting group Haunted Southampton, and it is the first long-running paranormal probe into mysterious disturbances at the same place in the city.

Full-time investigator Peter Collins followed up the lead and spoke to the musuem manager about finding out whether the museum is housing spirits as well as old aircraft including Spitfires.

On the first investigation at the museum back in January, Peter and his wife Juliet claim to have seen a mysterious figure running between two planes.

This is a pretty ambitious project. Have they written a scope? Do they have their research methodology planned out? How will evidence be collected and analyzed? Where will the report be published? Otherwise, what’s the use of such an endeavor? If it’s just publicity for the museum, I’d be angry. Even negative results would be worth talking about. I sure do hope something comes out of this.

I’ll reserve any judgement until I see what they have to write up. The red flag for me is that they are about the ghost stories and promoting the haunted tours.

I don’t know if this will take off. It looks like the lead investigator isn’t terribly grounded. A fly by night investigation is only going to stall out.

Well, even if it bombs, I’m sure it will propel publicity for the museum. Heck, it already went over like a lead balloon with a free ad in the form of a newspaper article. However they roll this pitch to the paranormal, I’m yaw-in myself.
