Oh my…

Loveland man arrested on child exploitation charges – Loveland Reporter-Herald.

A 51-year-old Loveland man has been arrested on suspicion that he distributed child pornography.

Stanley Romanek was arrested Thursday in the 3900 block of Ash Avenue on felony charges of sexual exploitation of a child.

The search warrant on his computer was from April 2013. Stan is an “Inspirational Speaker and International Bestselling Author” known for his involvement in extraterrestrial contact. He claims he is, himself, an alien abductee and receives messages from them and has an implant (that has never been located).

Here is his website – it touts some very strange “wooey” stuff.

This is Stan’s video of an alien looking in the window. (I’m not joking. “Alien” appears around 1:40) This made the news in 2009.

Even if the charges are NOT true, Stan was into some very disturbing things in his life.

UPDATE (18-Mar-2014): A new piece on Huffington Post details what has gone on behind the scenes in the case against Stan Romanek.

Romanek’s thumb drives and computers have been analyzed by the Northern Colorado Regional Forensics Lab. NCRFL investigators said they discovered “over 300 images depicting child pornography” and multiple child pornography videos from a laptop located inside a bag that was in Romanek’s office closet.

In a report filed by Koopman four days after the search warrant, the detective said Romanek had routinely switched internet service providers and created new profiles within peer-to-peer networks.

“In my training and experience, I have learned that this is consistent with a suspect attempting to evade detection by law enforcement,” Koopman wrote.

The Romaneks content that someone else has put the illegal photos on his devices, possibly in a set up because of his UFO work. Stan claims to have top secret documents regarding his research. The police noted that they weren’t interested in that. I’m not seeing how using this UFO angle will help Stan. His credibility is shot.

UPDATE: (31-May-2014) Psychological evaluation to be given. Stanley Romanek to be evaluated before court proceedings continue – Loveland Reporter-Herald

His wife is saying they deny it and they have proof the computer has been hacked. It seems like she is suggesting a conspiracy due to his UFO involvement. That’s an… interesting defense that I don’t think will fly. We’ll see how this shakes out. Meanwhile, know I get NO jollies from paranormal people messing up or getting into trouble like this. Unless they are scamming people, like psychics.

I put together the manuscript for his first book and also spent many hours transcribing the half-dozen sessions in which Romanek under hypnosis channeled Grandpa Gray (now released as the Orion Sessions). I received no credit for assisting with Messages and he released the hypnosis transcripts after stone walling me. There is a story in Messages about how he suddenly was missing his watch – he mentioned his watch at least 50 times over lunch (which I paid for). He then called me 48 hours later to tell me that there was a knock on his door, no one was there but his watch has been placed in the door handle on the outside and that there were tiny footprints in the snow which went for a few yards to the street and then disappeared. When I asked if he took pictures of these footprints he replied that yes, he had. He never produced these photographs for me despite claiming to have “the world’s best documented case of alien abduction. There was also an attempt (by a female associate) to hustle me for his rent money. The woman brought over a recording of the mysterious “Audrey” digital voice expressing grave concern that the Romaneks could lose their house. I refused to pay his mortgage (I had paid his rent before) and after this, he began to distance himself from me. Even the publisher of Messages refused to print the tale in which he beat up a paramilitary goon with his bike lock because it was not believable. There were other incidents where he lied and told different friends conflicting things.

When I read a UFO book, I make my own index on the end papers. The longest category is usually “missing evidence” — physical evidence we are told about but never shown, corrobarative evidence that goes missing entirely, and witnesses who are either not named or not quoted directly (i.e. hearsay evidence).

Regardless, this steaming pile of “evidence” will be cited in every printed retelling, every TV documentary and interview, every stage lecture, every online debate.

We have all heard the “God\Satan made me do it!” plea. This could be the first “Aliens abducting me on a continual basis made me do it.” A sad angle on these particular stories deals with the significant other being unaware of their mates proclivities. In some cases I am not sure which gets hit in the chops with now realized reality more. Unfortunately people cannot separate the person in question and his two quite different interests. Now the child porn charges bleed into all that encompasses the person.

[Editors Note: I am going to allow this comment where I normally wouldn't. It is heavily edited because of the potentially libelous accusations made. But it is a response to Don's comment above that is also unreferenced. Read the comment policy, you need to provide some evidence of your claims.]

The person above who calls himself Don was actually mentioned in the Orion regressions..The character referred to as “Grandpa” was always telling him to stop being so paranoid…A few years ago, Don sort of went into the darkness and never emerged…He started writing completely insane ramblings on Stan’s facebook page about killing babies in other countries and when Stan asked him to stop, suddenly he started calling the Romanek’s baby killers and Zionists. He went off the deep end basically and never returned. [Removed, Editor] Don was one of those guys who would do things for the Romaneks like unsolicited dinners he wanted to buy with strings attached all over them.. We have all had people like that in our lives. Anyway, I see his name on all sorts of sites and he always tells the same story…poor Don helped Stan with his book and never got any credit for it…at one time Lisa completely adored him but he made it impossible for them to remain friends with his crazy utterings on Stan’s page and obvious refusal to stop…I am not sure why the guy cracked..maybe he was cracked all along who knows…but I am so sick of reading his same damn sob story on every Stan story he can find. Don, why dont you go get some therapy and get over it and go get a life and next time dont try to buy your friends, [removed, Editor]…anyway, move on buddy. You have really crapped on some people who genuinely loved ur crazy ass.

    From the HuffPo article:

“When reached for comment, Stan Romanek told HuffPost, ‘I can’t speak because I have a head injury, and it probably wouldn’t make sense to you.’”

Stan’s wife Lisa posted this recently on her Facebook page on March 17 (before his March 18th court date):

“”He will not be making a plea tomorrow, but when he does it will be Innocent…Not Guilty. As I said the attorney, investigator and Comp. Specialist haven’t been allowed access to computer or evidence of any kind.”

I don’t get a few things about this whole deal. For one. Usually people who are just in possession of porn and not producing it themselves get caught up in sweeps that involve tens or sometimes hundreds of other people getting caught. Not just one dude. Secondly, I’ve watched his whole presentations, not just the one little video he’s famous for, and he admits his kids hack in to his stuff all the time and snoop around. I don’t see him leaving all that around for his household of curious teens to find. On top of that he knows the government monitors and hacks him all the time so throwing such incriminating character destroying evidence around in such large quantities on that same device just doesn’t make sense even if you’re not the brightest of people. Heck you don’t even have to be in his shoes to be monitored thanks to the NSA, we all know that now, and he certainly does too. He’s definitely out there but he’s not stupid. No paranoid criminal who doesn’t want to be caught is that stupid and I’ve been around the most paranoid and disfunctional of criminals. Junkies.
    Just my two cents.

    • May 5, 2014 at 8:29 PM

This is child porn. Exploiting children is ILLEGAL. And a bit sick. He so much as admitted he knew it was on there.

      @Hmm

      > sweeps that involve tens or sometimes hundreds of other people

You have to remember that Romanek is not some generic guy who blends in among the masses. He’s a shameless self-promoter who just about everyone in North America has seen ridiculed on TV because of his alien video. If some individual caught Romanek in an illegal activity, how could they keep that to themselves? I’m just speculating, but my notions are at least as logical as yours.

      > he knows the government monitors and hacks him all the time

      He does? Where’s the proof?

      > No paranoid criminal who doesn’t want to be caught is that stupid

That’s why all the jails are empty, right?

A lot of opinions here. Opinions of no consequence. At what point in societal evolution are we all able say, “I don’t know yet…Let’s wait and see.”?

I tend to agree with the comments of Geordie Pasolini, my initial reaction was in taking the Scottish verdict “Not Proven”
I would add that this applies to both sides.
There is without doubt more to come so yes let’s wait and see.

I have followed Stan’s abduction case since the beginning. He has been warned numerous times, by (i assume) people ” in the know” to stop making his abduction experience public. His house has been broken into and searched, always the only things taken(if anything at all) are documents Stan has received from whistleblowers that work inside the government, and or pictures/Evidence that supports his abduction experiences. Stan has Experienced/knows about a reality that our government does not want you(or anybody) to know about. I am 99% sure Stan is being set up.

    • May 22, 2014 at 1:31 PM

Sorry, those are nifty stories but there is no evidence to back it up. Of course, conspiracies are unfalsifiable. Since they explain everything, they explain nothing.

The Romaneks save/photograph and document everything that has happend to them . So thay do have an incredible amount of evidence to support there claims.

Levi, please stop until after the trial.

You sound silly, claiming BOTH that the Romaneks have lots of documents of their claims yet many of these same documents have been stolen from them. Also, you can’t argue away the obvious fraud of Stan’s puppet alien video, as well as interview videos of him hand flipping objects around the room and pretending it was aliens or whatnot (see link for the last bit of fraud).

Levi, let me be more clear about why waiting is wise:

At this time, Stan’s conspiracy theory about his prosecution is based on nothing but his personal statements. As I’ve shown, we can’t take his word for anything — he has to produce evidence. There will be a discovery phase at the trial where the state shares with Stan their evidence. Stan’s legal team can then investigate this evidence and draw up a defence. If Stan fights the charges, the evidence will come out — and be tested — at the trial.

So wait until the trail. We’ll know then. Defending Stan now with mere hyperbole — your assertions are not facts — is pointless.

my opinion is that he is being set up. the multiple police reports of his house being broken into and his computer hacked is a fact. The documents he has (real or not) is a fact. The romaneks photograph/record all phone calls/and document every strange thing that happens to them is a fact , all of this info can be found on the internet and was published in his first book………look ..when someone claims that the government is frameing him. i think that sounds crazy, but when you realize what said man has been going through the past 15-17 years…it starts to sound not as crazy…. after watching that video that you posted, i wonder what would happen to a man that had real e.t. experience’s , wrote 3 top selling books, got all sorts of attention and then one day the e.t. contact stops…what would that man do to keep the spot light on him.?.that video was sad..

    > the multiple police reports of his house being broken into

Levi, can you point to even one confirmed police report of Stan’s house being broken into? Not an assertion that such reports exist, but an actual police document or confirmation from the police? (Stan’s arrest report is online.)

I can find one confirmed break-in report from 2009, but that was for a friend’s home where Stan was staying. It came the night before Stan was to speak at the Galactic Gathering. Also, the conference organisers claims a bomb threat was made. However, the police never got a call about a bomb threat.

If someone were to form the opinion that maybe the break-in and bomb threat were publicity stunts to draw attention to the speaking engagement, I am not sure I could muster the evidence to dissuade them.

    http://whalesinspace.com/2009/10/30/questions-arise-concerning-stan-romaneks-room-break-in-claims/

    > his computer hacked is a fact

Levi, can you point to even one confirmed technical report of Stan’s computer being hacked? Not an assertion that such an event happened, but independent confirmation from a qualified technician?

The only independent statements I can find about Stan’s computers say he had child porn on them.

If someone were to form the opinion that the computer hacking stories were publicity stunts aimed and getting attention for Stan, I am not sure I could muster the evidence to dissuade them.

    > The documents he has (real or not) is a fact.

If Stan has top secret government documents, he should stop talking about them and produce them.

Since he hasn’t, someone might form the opinion that such documents don’t exist, and this is a story Stan tells to draw attention to himself and increase his credibility in the UFO field. I cannot find any evidence that might dissuade a person from forming such an opinion.

Levi, if you can produce facts, I would like to see them. You certainly haven’t given us any facts yet. You are leaving that up to the rest of us.

    • May 23, 2014 at 8:11 PM

That is the end of this. “Opinions” do not count for much on this site. I let Levi spout them for too long with no evidence. As you said, the court will decide. We are not that.

This entire situation is a shame and sad at the very least. When looking at this situation and reading alleged facts from both sides of the story; I feel something isn’t quite right. Yes child porn is beyond sick and just disgustedly wrong, but there is that “what if” factor tied in. I’m implying that if these abducions were real, which we will never know, and the government wanted him to stop talking, they could. They control in a sense the reality we see, the facts we see, the media we see, it is truly a bias situation against Mr. Romanek. It’s probably not going to go to well for him in the end.
