Dyer’s tour of the Bigfoot body a bust?

Dyer having a hard time with his Bigfoot body tour: Is Bigfoot dead?

As I noted to this reporter from Albuquerque where Dyer had trouble finding a venue and gave up, why should anyone wish to be associated with a guy who has “fraud” so predominantly associated with his name?

[...] we have the promise of a known hoaxer and he’s trying to make money off of this,” Hill said. “Even the Bigfoot community is doubtful.”

If he has the real body (and this IN NO WAY looks real), he owes it to society to present it to the world with no strings attached. (Recall that he also claims the original Georgia Bigfoot he shot was confiscated by the government so there was a costume full of oppossum guts in its place.) Instead, he is parading around in another freak show. What a despicable human being. I can find ZERO Bigfooters who support this man anymore. He needs to take a hike.

I talk about it a bit on Virtual Skeptics from last night (first segment).

Dyer and Bigfoot walk into a bar, the bartender looks at them as says, “Is this a joke?”

I always have a sad when any of the mainstream media gives this guy the time of day. No credibility whatsoever. I found some hilarity on his Facebook fan page when the press conference was cancelled..there were people wondering where they could watch it on TV. However to be fair, those were enthusiasts looking for a bizarre story. Any of the sites where they discuss these things–he is seen as a joke.

A serious effort was made by certain entrepreneureal individuals (NOT by Open Minds) to get the dead Bigfoot display moved to the UFO Congress this weekend! Imagine all the money they’d make from the UFO believers at $10 a pop! But apparently the Casino would not agree to allow any of the proposals, one of which was to park Bigfoot’s tour truck in the Casino parking lot for viewing.

Later, after it’s proved to be a hairy suit in a case, and he’s arrested and charged with criminal fraud, maybe his story to stay out of jail will turn to that it is performance art, of course not to be taken seriously, and “for entertainment purposes only, because certainly, Your Honor, everyone knows there’s no such thing as Bigfoot. Yeah, that’s it….”

I’m just waiting for the day that he ends up doing performance art, with a paperbag over his head, that reads “I’m not famous anymore.”

I’ve been looking for a Bigfoot story to leave this comment… Has everyone seen the best “Bigfoot” video ever? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yZ4fktcuNk Close, clear, in focus – a large dark animal walking on two feet for a loooong time; steps out of the trees and … it’s a bear. She is missing a front paw and has adapted by learning to walk for extended distance on her hind legs.
I am NOT suggesting Bigfoot sitings are all three-legged bears; this has to be rare. But it does point out an open mind can lead to neat observations. And a neat video.
