Cormac McCarthy’s Ex-Wife Pulled a Gun Out of Her Vagina During an Argument About Aliens – This has to make headline of the month. I nearly choked on my lunch!

That I have a PhD from the same institution as Gingrich is deeply disappointing.

How is Virginia House bill 207 anti-science. It seems like the embodiment of scientific principles to me. The only non-scientific element is that last sentence which prohibits religious discrimination–an unneeded clause which is covered by other law.

Richard Bell’s explanation of this legislation is he wants teachers to be able to explain creationism in the classroom if asked about it. (It would still be illegal if not asked, I assume.) Of course, he didn’t word the bill that way. It’s worded to sound less “anti-science” and more “open info.”

In the past, they had to stop saying “creation,” so they switched it to “intelligent design”, now they can’t say “intelligent design” so they say “allow diverse opinions”. You have to admire their tenacity, if nothing else.

“respond appropriately and respectfully to differences of opinion about scientific controversies in science classes” is weasel wording for anti-evolution and anti-climate change. You don’t debate scientific concepts or controversies in lower grades, you learn science. If you wish to get into controversies, that’s university level. Typical ploy from Creationists who don’t understand science.
