Readers! Have your say for BEST DOUBTFUL NEWS STORY OF 2013

Here we are, heading in the last month of the year. If you follow the Gregorian calendar, that is.

In January, we posted our personal favorite news stories from 2012 that we covered. We decided to keep up that tradition but this year we also want to hear what YOUR favorite “doubtful news” stories of 2013 were. So we’re having a poll! You can choose up to 3 stories you felt were the best stories in the spirit of Doubtful News for this past year. If you feel there’s a story we’ve missed, you can simply vote for “other” and use the comment section below to write in your answer. Please include ONLY those stories we have covered on this site, so a link is appreciated when adding an “other”.

Which topics made you cheer, jeer, cry or sigh…?

Voting ends at midnight December 31 2013. We will announce the results along with the editors favorite stories in early January.

    Vote early. Vote often. 😉

All the stories make me laugh, and cry. Not, necessarily, in that order.

See bigfootery taking early lead. Urge people to think whether that most important story of year. Surely those where greater harm/damage has been minimised or reduced are most important

I don’t see a “Vote” button anywhere – how do you get votes to register?

My “other” suggestion is about a “Bigfoot” investigation that produced some real scientific discoveries:

Not Yeti, says Sykes. Bear with us. (UPDATE)

Huh, the “Vote” button suddenly showed itself only after I submitted the above comment.

It has to be Dr. Bryan Sykes’ Bigfoot DNA study. You know, that definitive, landmark study that was going to have all of us Skeptards eating crow.

I am with the Sykes bigfoot DNA crowd. Everything about that story was ridiculous.

I know that the Atacama alien body was not the hottest story of the year, but I was thrilled that a couple of actual, respectable university scientists took the time (and the heat) to show that science can and should be applied to supposed “mysteries.” They revealed some fascinating answers, and as usual with science, even more questions.

Bigfoot’s been fun, especially when you add in Joel McHale’s comments on The Soup; but the hope that Burzynski may be shut down is tremendous.

Not sure about “best” in the spirit of Doubtful News, but by far MY FAVORITE is from November 13, and is titled:

“Jury took only 45 minutes to find Trudeau guilty”

YAAAAYYY! [insert Dancing Snoopy icon here]

Oh, and may there be a similar story about Burzynski that becomes the Doubtful News favorite for 2014!
