Still fighting to expose Herbalife as pyramid scheme

Hedge fund manager wants Herbalife to account for it’s victims.

Bill Ackman won’t quit war on Herbalife | New York Post.

Bill Ackman is not backing down on his Herbalife fight — no matter how bruising the battle gets.
“I will go to the ends of the earth to shut this company down,” he said.

Ackman launched another take down of the controversial nutrition products company Friday at the Robin Hood Investors Conference, where he reiterated his belief that Herbalife is a pyramid scheme.

“There’s too much about Wall Street and not enough about the victims,” Ackman told The Post after his talk Friday morning.

Herbalife is accused of targeting low-income immigrants for their business, many who claim they haven’t made a dime. These people are not in a position to defend themselves. Ackman has over 200 accounts.

We had an earlier story about Ackman’s crusade against Herbalife which has detractors for decades clearly establishing that their premise of the products are not good nutrition, and do not do anything worthwhile for diet and health.

As of 2009, Herbalife participants were the most success of all Multilevel Marketers. Only 99.42% lost money. http://skeptoid.com/episodes/4176

A friend’s son was a victim of a multilevel marketing scam (don’t ask me to remember which one it was). He actually dropped out of High School intending to get in on what he thought would be easy money. Fortunately, his mom (who he didn’t live with) convinced him to put an end to it as soon as she found out. I don’t recall how much he lost, but whatever it was, I remember thinking that he got off cheap. After time trying to get a legitimate job, he did smarten up and got his degree. I’d imagine that young people are exceptionally vulnerable to scams like this.
