Fourth alligator reported in Pennsylvania

We’ll just keep counting: It truly is the summer of gators in PA.

Gettysburg area couple surprised by stray, 3-foot gator crawling their back steps in time for dinner | PennLive.com.

The stray alligator — presumably someone else’s pet put out to pasture — was creeping along behind their home, located along the 1400 block of Herrs Ridge Road. It happened around 5 p.m. — just in time for dinner.

According to Cumberland Twp. Police, who responded, it remains pretty much a mystery how the alligator ended up on the couple’s back steps in the first place. The working theory is the gator’s owner might have turned loose the toothy pet once it grew to three feet or so.

The police are looking for the owner of the gator.
