[...]apparently Adams thinks he can be a substitute for PubMed, as an e-mail announcement I received yesterday boldly announced:
Today I’m pleased to announce the launch of SCIENCE.naturalnews.com, a powerful new portal into the wealth of scientific literature that documents nutritional cures, toxic chemicals (including heavy metals), benefits of holistic therapies, the dangers of prescription medications and much more.
Orac tests the new portal and finds many links to the Natural News website. He concludes that actually using the Pub Med site may be inconvenient for NN readers or (more likely) this version allows the woo bias to dominate in the results. Adams claims he invented the technology. How is it possible to take Adams seriously? His website is utterly bonkers. Natural News is one if not the WORST websites out there in terms of nonsense, ridiculousness and bad information. That is, it’s harmful. Not to mention Adams goes on some insane political diatribes on occasion. That’s natural news?
My advice is to NEVER go to Natural News. It is an ad machine that, from the beginning, was a way for Adams to market his products. Never link to it, never mention it except with bad words attached. There are some worthy targets of derision – Natural News is neither natural nor news and you should steer clear.
