I saw this story about a man arrested for setting fire to part of his house while others were in there. His excuse? Demons. I wonder where he got that crazy idea?
Avondale police say they arrested a man Monday afternoon who allegedly started a fire in his bedroom closet while his roommates were home because he was trying to rid his room of demons.
Adam Glenn Hamilton, 30, was walking around the home near 120th Avenue and Tonto Street in Avondale reciting Bible verses before he started a fire in his bedroom closet with paint thinner, according to police documents.
He forgot to tell his roommates he was in the middle of demon extermination, I guess. Just by strange coincidence, THIS story appears today.
Televangelist Pat Robertson on Tuesday advised a viewer who he suspected was being tormented by “demons” to “burn the house down,” move or get an exorcism.
“If it was me, I would burn the house down and move on,” Robertson laughed.
It’s not funny, Pat. You are a menace to society.
In all fairness, Hamilton did his thing on July 20 and Robertson brought up the topic on the 29th so the two are not connected. However, Hamilton got the idea from somewhere. He seems a bit disturbed and quite taken by religious teachings. In the minds of the non-rational, these types of bizarre suggestions are taken seriously. And Robertson is never short on bizarre suggestions.
