AWESOME: Cake delivery from space

Welcome to the 21st century. FINALLY! – ‘UFO’ in Shanghai found to be cake deliverer.

A small “unidentified flying object” that has been seen over Shanghai’s Huangpu River in recent days has been revealed to be a remote controlled plane being used to deliver cakes, reported Shanghai-based news website

The “UFO”, which is 1.1 meters long and weighs 10 kg, crossed the Huangpu River in a 45-minute flight to deliver a cake to a customer, according to the bakery that was testing the device, which flies at a maximum height of 100 meters.

There is no details that state if the RC device was really reported as a UFO or just caused some curious onlookers to be curiouser, but isn’t this the greatest thing EVER!? Until it fails and careens into someone and hurts them. That would be tragic. But I want food delivery this way!

I believe there is a dry cleaners delivering clothes using one of these drones here in the US.
I know that sounds crazy, but that was a news item I saw about a week ago (though the report might have been older).

Cake is good, but I want one that’s big enough to ferry me around. Skycab!
