These ‘dead’ stories rise up all the time

He’s not dead yet!

‘Dead’ man comes back to life at his funeral – Telegraph.

Family and friends were filing past a coffin with the remains of Brighton Dama Zanthe, 34, when one of them noticed the dead man’s legs twitching.

Mr Zanthe had been unwell for some time and was laid to rest inside a coffin last Monday after “dying” at home the day before.

He doesn’t remember what happened. The article contains no detail as to how he was pronounced dead (if a doctor was there or not). Also, we have the situation where people are not embalmed as in other countries prior to burial. Several of these stories of raising from the “dead” come up every year.

Apparently, Zimbabwe has some very different or non-existent rules/procedures/laws re: docs and autopsies (sp?) prior to burial, than those that most countries employ these days in order to avoid just such `mistakes’.
