Dragon hoax flying around again. They are hard to kill.

This is a hoax and technically OLDS instead of NEWS but it’s back in circulation.

Dragons are fictional. However, it’s a pretty cool creation.

Real Dragon Fossils on Display in China.

Some fossils, named the “China dragon fossils”, were recently exhibited in the Xinwei Ancient Life Fossils Museum in Anshun, Guizhou.

The China dragon was a reptile animal living in the ocean in Triassic Period about 200 million years ago. It was an amphibian. It spent most of its time living in water, although sometimes it walked on land. It also laid eggs on land. The animal lived on fish and small reptile animals.

This is the first time that China found a dragon fossil with a pair of horns. Its discovery provides some evidence to prove that dragons might really have horns. The fossil provides important scientific information for people to trace the origin of the Chinese legendary dragon.

This story is being portrayed as real but of course it is not. In fact, it’s also rather old, it was circulated back in 2007 and again in 2010. I saw a spike in search hits for “dragon skeleton” yesterday on the site and came across this story circulated once again.

This site notes that the piece was used in Discovery Channel special about dragons. The story has been circulating since at least 2007.

Back in February, there was a story about a dragon found at Stonehenge. Obviously, promotional.

Give it up people, we’re not going to find real dragons. Unless

It seems possible that before we knew about dinosaurs, that any discovered dinosaur skeletons could’ve started these myths, way back when.
With other confirmed megafauna that we know of co-existing with our ancestors, who is to say their weren’t some other interesting reptiles / birds way back when too 🙂

The fossil under discussion is noted to be 200 million years old. Homo sapiens goes back about 200 thousand years (and hominids about 65 million years).

If such “megafauna” coexisted with our ancestors, where is the fossil evidence?

    Or any evidence at all?
