Sasquatch film footage for sale (Update: So unprofessional, on eBay)

Dr. Melba Ketchum, speaking for Igor Burtsev, is advertising some interesting items on her Facebook page.

EXCITING NEWS…….. For collectors of the Sasquatch. Dr. Igor Burtsev is Opening A International Center of Hominology in The U.S.A. The center will also help in the preservation of the Forest People. Dr. Burstev will be selling two films of great importance. Two films each one by approximate for 10 minutes brought here by Rene Dahinden in December 1971 and left to Igor for the financial assistance given him. Both are the first copies of the original ones .
One is the Patterson footage’s copy with several stop stills and slow motion of the creature in it – since its beginning to the end.
Another one shows how P&G are moving horseback to the film site and after how they see the footprints and make the casts of them and show the casts themselves. Also showing Jim MacClarin walking along Patty’s way on the film site
These are of good quality.
Contact Dr. Igor Burtsev or Robin Lynne Forest People. for information and pricing.

I guess Sotheby’s or eBay were just not on par with Facebook for doing business. Wonder what these will show and who will get them. How valuable are they?

Also, the opening of an International Center has no further information. Hmm.

Just a note: An entire chronology of the Ketchum Project is available in the Skeptical Briefs for Spring 2013. This is the fullest version of the story in print. I’m hoping it will be available online soon.

But the shorter Special Report is in this month’s Skeptical Inquirer available on newstands NOW. Pick up your copy. Or subscribe to both.

Sometimes online isn’t enough. You have to get this stuff onto good ole paper for it to count years from now. Eh, Melba?

UPDATE: (21-Apr-2013) She clarifies that the films will be used to raise money for the new American center which is in need of $30K.

We several persons, supporters of the idea of protecting Forest People, cooperating with Dr. Igor Burtsev, head of the International Center of Hominology, are intending (or starting?) to set up an American Branch of the International Center of Hominology as a joint undertaking, with an Office in the U.S.A., to hold our activities in North America more effectively and help more efficiently in the preservation of the Forest People. For doing this we need for beginning about $30 thousand to get an office and other facilities. To start such affair and get the starting sum Dr. Burtsev is ready to give us (or supply us?) two historical films on the subject us to pawn (pledge) or even to sell them to get the sum we need or a part of it.

The lack of professionalism is just astounding. DO your EDITING before posting on Facebook. Better yet, don’t post on Facebook. Dr. Ketchum can’t seem to do anything in her name that isn’t laughable. I really wish she would stop this.

UPDATE: (24-Apr-2013) Robin Lynne, Melba’s “publicist” has posted one film up on eBay with a starting bid of $15,500. Buy it now price is $17,500. Here is the listing – unedited:

Twoo historical films on the subject us to pawn (pledge) oreven to sell them to get the sum we need or a part of it. Those films each oneby approximate for 10 minutes brought to Russia by Rene Dahinden in December1971 and left to Igor for the financial assistance given him for his trip andfor arranging it. Both are the first copies of the Ektachrome films, made withusing of the first copies of Patterson films, and they are second generationcopies.
One is the Patterson Patty footage’s copy with several stopstills and slow motion of the creature in it – since its beginning to the end.

Another one shows howP&G are moving horseback to the film site and after how they see thefootprints, make the casts of them and show the casts themselves.

This film also shows Jim MacClarin walking along Patty’s wayon the film site.

These are of goodquality, they were just projected several times thru the film projector whileshowing together with Rene to the specialists for investigation.. is a 16 mm film

What a disaster! Robin has NO prior sales on eBay. Only a damned fool would step into this pile of crap.

Interesting how she goes back and forth: She spends all this energy claiming to have discovered a tribe of “people” who deserve constitutional rights, but when she’s pushing monster memoribilia, the film shows “the creature.”

Melba, Melba, Melba !! I can’t say something nice, so I’ll not say anything. I will re-subscribe to both Skeptical Inquirer and Free Inquiry magazines, though. I’d had a nice stack of several years worth of subscriptions until a fire last year destroyed most of my stuff. They’re full of interesting stuff, and though some of the articles are somewhat technical and complex sometimes, I always came away from a read-through with a little more real knowledge.

I noticed Michael Merchant left a good old fashioned sarcastic “goody” on one of the facebook pages you posted this on. Have you seen the recent photo he pasted on his own Zen Yeti facebook page. He’s touting it as the best two still images of of a “potential” skunkape. If this post wasn’t about film images I wouldn’t have brought it up, but since it is ;) http://www.facebook.com/groups/zenyeti

details please on where this center will be located! I don’t see any reason the “forest folk” need protection, they appear to avoid being hit by cars, captured or killed very well on their own.

Melba claims to have footage of a family of five, you have to wonder when she plans on selling that gem. Oh wait, never, since the Bigfoot’s in question were invisible.

Interesting FB post. I would expect someone with a doctorate degree to be substantially more literate. Her written communication skills are seriously lacking.

And it baffles me that she or anyone else thinks these “Forest People” need preservation or protection. There hasn’t been a real rash of Forest People fatalities in the last few hundred years. Actually, there haven’t even been any reliable or credible sightings, so I don’t think they’re in any danger of going extinct.

In my rather jaded opinion, they’re already as non-existent as Ketchum’s credibility.

The Forest People… Any relation to the Village people? :-D

I consider any one of these people with information a fraud the minute they start peddling crap. From what I read tho…. She is being quite a fraud beforehand.

And the seasons, they go ’round and ’round,
And the painted ponies go up and down….

Wow, there is actually something Bigfoot true believers won’t throw money at?
