The CCTV camera “ghost” [fake]

Someone is pulling a fast one. But, take a look to see the state of ghost hoaxing these days.

‘Ghost’ caught on CCTV camera | Orange UK.

CCTV footage said to show a ghost outside a London community centre is going viral after it was posted on YouTube.

It shows a transparent figure leaving the centre and walking towards a metal railing before seemingly disappearing into thin air.

The strange moment was reportedly witnessed by the centre’s caretaker who went outside to investigate.

“After downloading the CCTV footage I was surprised to see that the figure had been recorded onto the system. I can’t explain this.”

The community centre was reportedly used as a prisoner of war camp for Italian prisoners during World War II – leading many to speculate the haunting figure may be from the 1940s.

First of all, we can’t be certain the footage was not tampered with. This is an easily available video editing effect (layering) that you can achieve with pretty cheap (or even free) video editing software.

Two, the clothes of this person certainly don’t look very 1940s.

Note the video date is 1-2-13, it was uploaded 2-3-13. Enough time to edit, eh?

Knowing what we know about hoaxing videos, this seems like a weak effort. No film evidence can be trusted these days.

Here’s the video, what do you think?

The shifting contrast and brightness at 0:32 totally gives the hoax away.

Debunking needs to have a bit more OOOmmmmmphhh to it rather than ‘assumptions’

There is a “mist” at 21 seconds. This could be nothing. However as the figure comes in first frame, he is at a stand still, not walking pace. He then takes a step forward at 32 seconds, indicating he didn’t walk through the wall, but was waiting by it to start walking. The video goes darker when it appears, and then LIGHTENS once it disappears. Indicating two videos overlaid with the apparition being set a lighter transparency. The angle of camera I cant be sure, but looks to be set slightly different to the people on camera recorded, The ghost more from the side, the witness seems to be from slightly higher above, suggesting two videos. Their shoes look the same. (coincidence only and cant be definitive)

The witness comes out, 4.5 seconds after the apparition, so unless his cameras are directly at the doorway, it would take him longer to come out. Clothes of apparition are inconclusive in terms of fashions, there is no proof it “should” be a 1940s ghost. . The witness would have to produce original footage, and also advise when the stairs were added to the building, and the ramp the apparition walks onto was changed. Then its debunked 😀

Do the clothes of the deceased have souls? Why aren’t souls/ghosts naked? Do ghosts need clothes? Are the dearly departed simply being modest?

I think the dead don’t want to make the living feel uneasy with their ghost genitalia all dangling about, hence the fashionable clothing. Instead, the ghosts would rather tell mediums very vague information to communicate with loved ones.
