Tenby mystery carcass (Update: badger?)

Not much to go on with this hairless beastie found in Pembrokeshire, U.K.

Can you solve the mystery of the Beast from the East? (From Western Telegraph).

This mysterious creature was washed up on Tenby’s South Beach over the weekend.

“It was neither fish nor whale. It looked like a horse with claws but seemed to have been skinned.”

There is not enough in this picture to make a good guess. What’s missing is scale and close up photos from all angles. The body appears to have white hair remaining on the back. Most likely explanation is a dog. But if you wish to show pictures like this to the public to find out what it might be, take more pictures than one and SCALE is essential.

The body was likely not skinned by anyone but the hair was lost due to decomposition in the water. Happens all the time. [Hairless freaks]

The body was removed so, we won’t know what it is. Unless Ryan has more pictures…? We can pass them along to specialists if he has more.

UPDATE: (27-Feb-2013) SnowWalker Prime, known for his Bigfoot rants has this video up that provides a little more evidence for what this critter might be. His guess? A European badger. It’s a good guess.

It looks like the remains of a dog, but no measurements are given. Why from the ‘East’ – just because it rhymes with beast?

My money’s on a Bull Terrier… my hedge bet, of course, is a Chupacabra.
