Two men in accident claimed to have been chased by aliens

A confusing and strange story about two men in a crash who claimed something bizarre was happening to them.

‘Paranormal activity’ to blame for car crash near dam | Ipswich Queensland Times.

TWO men who walked away from a car crash on the back roads around Wivenhoe Dam claimed to be chasing an alien space craft when found by police.

Police and the driver’s insurance company received several sketchy phone calls from the men, who appeared to be convinced paranormal activity caused the crash.

The men began to “freak out”, telling the insurance company they were about to disappear and referred to the area as the Bermuda Triangle, police said.

Police called the men back, with the second male answering the phone, telling police there were “some really weird things going on” and they had abandoned the car.

Police received another call from the men at 4am, claiming that “something paranormal” had occurred and “big bright lights” caused the car accident.

The men gave the police a hard time, seemed more than a little freaked out and one was found to be intoxicated. I might also suspect drug use. There was no further information about attacking entities. I suspect we might not be hearing more about this but if any of our Australian audience can add to this, please do.

    I’d also suspect drug use.

What I suspect happened is that the men crashed the car first, and then concocted the UFO cover story in an effort to shield themselves from both the legal and financial repercussions. Most insurance policies have clauses that removes the insurer from liabaility should the accident occur whilst the car was being operated illegally.

The Aus press reports i’ve read( several) mostly mention that one person was arrested for driving while intoxicated & another for assaulting a police officer. Unfortunately i get so much stuff in my e mail i delete after reading, & often throwing at Facebook, so can’t remember which journals the reports were from. Think was from Queensland Times & a Canberra paper.

Drunk and insurance fraud sounds right to me.
