Man finds mummified bat in his morning bowl of cereal | Metro.co.uk.

The hungry German man’s start to the day was completely ruined when he discovered the dead bat in his bowl of cereal at his home in Stuttgart.

The incident was reported to health officials who are attempting to establish how the errant bat managed to fly into the box of corn flakes.

They believe the bat may have flown into the plastic packaging by mistake and suffocated to death.

A very unusual case. People report finding all sorts of dead and live animals and other nasty things in packaged food. Some are hoaxed. This incident seems to be taken seriously by the manufacturer.

Consumerist made a quite funny joke about missing Count Chocula. HAHA.

A mummified bat (not the one found in the cereal box)

This was the weirdest surprise in a box of cereal EVER!

Of course weirdos like me would have been delighted…

Circa 2002 I often found dead flies in a particular brand of cereal (which is no longer made). I think the bat tops that, though.
