Raw chicken parts rained down on surprised Virginia teen

A Fortean weird rain of flesh? Nope. Not likely but rather nasty, nonetheless.

Hallelujah, it’s raining chicken on Virginia farm
Avian expert says scavenging birds likely picked up parts

A teen’s horseback riding lesson ended abruptly after a foot-long hunk of raw chicken that fell out of the sky hit her in the head.

A Virginia Department of Environmental Quality official said the agency will investigate.

Land Protection Manager Milton Johnston of the department’s Tidewater office said the parts likely came from improperly composted dead chickens being spread on a nearby farm.

The location of the incident is between marshes and a poultry-processing facility in Temperanceville. They blamed seagulls for stealing the meat and losing it in transport. (Yes, seagulls eat other birds and eggs.)
