Couched in nonsense – Haunted piece of furniture for sale

A Haunted Couch? – – KCEN HD – Waco, Temple, and Killeen.

One store is actually selling what they believe is a haunted piece of furniture.

Consignment Furniture in Waco has a couch from the 50’s they say erased information from a computer and possibly even caused a death.

“My close friend of 30 years, he passed away not long after we took in the couch, it’s a bad luck couch,” says McNeil co-owner of Consignment Furniture.

He believes this sofa, with three cushions and six legs, is more than just that.

So he brought in the McLennan County Paranormal Investigators to see if they could answer some questions.

Investigator Mike Jacobus says, “If it’s bullet holes in the back bullets could be there, someone could have been murdered on this couch and their spirit has become attached to it for what ever reason.”

Tip: The Anomalist

Yeah…. NO. Ridiculous.

You can buy this “haunted couch” for $3000. [Sucker]

I draw your attention to this wonderful comment on another post from “Kitty” that is HIGHLY pertinent to this story:

I have a cousin that told me she NEVER buys used furniture as “it can be haunted”. She told me that in Wisconsin there were HAUNTED BUNK BEDS. “It’s often not the house, but the objects in the house”. She then looked around my used furniture filled home and told me she could “never sleep here”. She also pointed at my old travel trunk and said “People that used that are now dead, did you never think of that?”

Oh, dear. Never underestimate human imagination. – KCEN HD – Waco, Temple, and Killeen

People who once breathed the air you are currently breathing are now dead. Don’t breathe.

Best advice I’ve seen yet for these nuts! Seriously though, how sad is it to think someone goes through their life afraid of objects being haunted just because they belonged to someone who has died?

The only fear I have of used furniture is bedbugs!

I have to disagree with one of your points. There is absolutely nothing “sad” about people going through life with these kinds of beliefs. After observing people all my long life, I have gotten to the point where I have neither patience nor sympathy for people this ignorant. Most of them choose to remain ignorant, even when given the chance to learn. The scary thing is that these people are allowed to vote.

I don’t have patience or sympathy either, but it’s still sad in a societal context.

Yes, I agree, but more scary is that they DO vote.
