Acupuncturists – Uncle Sam wants you

The Army is looking to hire acupuncturists.

The Interdisciplinary Pain Management Center (IPMC) at San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC), Fort Sam Houston, Texas provides comprehensive pain management strategies that are holistic, multidisciplinary, and multimodal to optimize Soldiers’ quality of life. As a licensed Acupuncturist within this multidisciplinary team, you will offer a full array of the most current and emerging evidenced based approaches in integrative medicine for patients with acute and chronic pain who have not responded well to conventional treatment modalities.

Acupuncture is not worth the cost. There is a small risk but since the benefits are basically nil, there is no point in taking that risk. It’s a placebo treatment. Here are some good sources if you want to sharpen up your arguments against acupuncture.

    I am a Veteran (and a skeptic) and, in case you didn’t know, the Army is big on Chiropractors as well. Several military hospitals have them.
