Jesus appears in the shower with a message: Time to clean

Family claims to see image of Jesus in moldy shower |

A family in Splendora claims they have a holy vision inside their home, an image of Jesus created by mold in a bathroom. They say the image is giving them strength.

We’ve all seen the stories: a Virgin Mary sighting in a grilled cheese sandwich, in the side of a tree, or Jesus’ face on a tortilla. We guess you’ve never seen one like this — inside a shower.

“People say your house is blessed,” said Chyanna Richards. “I see the head, the hair, a cloak.”

Richards doesn’t know if it’s mold or mildew or what, but she knows in her heart what she sees: a likeness of Jesus, it’s presence not without meaning.

“One of God’s mysteries,” he said.

Tip: Strange Times

The image has been inspirational to the residents. One woman who lives in the home has HIV and her family claims she has been doing better since they discovered the likeness.

Jesus. He’s everywhere. Everywhere people want to believe. I suggest they try investing some faith in some bleach bathroom cleaner.

This is kind of appalling. I feel bad for the reporter to have to cover such a story.

“They say the image is giving them strength.” While the mold spores give them chronic allergies.

Wake up. For many people “faith” may be all there is left. It’s not just about the image perceived, or where it’s seen. It’s about what it “means” to whoever sees it. But hey, there’s nothing like “discouraging” (and mocking) the poor, sickly and helpless is there? DUH!

I did have a similar thought when I saw this. Faith seems pretty important for these folks. Or, did they just want to get on TV? It’s hard to tell. Ii don’t think it would have mattered if they WEREN’T poor and sick (very few people are completely helpless). There is nothing miraculous in seeing an image in random noise. I am more surprised at the news station for reporting this.

IMO, letting them believe that Jesus is speaking to them through a stain is the same as not telling a sick person he only has a few weeks to live.

I’ll take facts over faith every time.
