Shame on you American Airlines. Anti-vax harms kids.(Updated: AmerAir defends the ad)

Media Release – AVN Information to air on American Airlines.

The Australian Vaccination Network’s President, Meryl Dorey, has recently participated in an interview which will air for two months on all American Airlines domestic and international flights for the months of July and August, 2012.

This interview will cover the following issues:

  • the recent world-wide epidemic of whooping cough despite continuing high levels of vaccination;
  • the meteoric rise in autism from 1 child in 10,000 only 20 years ago to 1 in 88 today with vaccinations being implicated as one of the causes; and
  • what steps parents can take to become fully informed about this issue before having their children vaccinated.

“Over 8.4 million people on 58,000 flights will be able to hear this interview which is being aired on American Airlines’ “Executive Report”,” says Meryl Dorey. “It will also be published in the Airlines’ American Way in-flight magazine over this period.

Tip: @SkepticZone on Twitter

After the CDC announced that last year was a banner year for measles, and we have outbreaks of pertussis, American Airlines gives air time to a anti-vaccination, anti-children’s health, anti-science organization. Pretty sick.

Let American Airlines know what YOU think. Customer Relations and Tweet them.

Stop The AVN

Note: This is a moderated, science-based blog. We will not allow comments from anti-vax supporters to remain. You’ve done enough damage already. It’s time to counter the misinformation.

UPDATE: American Airlines tell you, don’t listen.

I will let them know right away that we won’t be flying with them unless and until they stop endangering lives.

I don’t think I want to be in an American Airlines plane with a bunch of un-vaccinated people…

I contacted the company via Twitter and their site. I asked them to contact me with a response. Looking forward to a terse form letter.

    You won’t hear anything.

One: The objectionable content was prepared by AA’s supplier, Altitude Media.

Two: In addition to signing the petition, you can email and snailmail them directly. I have a set of pre-addressed letters to AA leadership, the principals at Altitude Media, and the editors at AmericanWay, the inflight magazine.

You can download the letters, edit them to your taste, and fax or snailmail.

I am also hoping that the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Family Practice Association will get involved.
