Culture Shifters group in Australia attracts young to be miracle healers

Teen God squad Culture Shifters’ miracle cure claims |

The Pentecostal group Culture Shifters says it has healed people suffering from cancer and multiple sclerosis and is developing a large youth following.

Children from the group have been approaching people at random on the street, prompting alarm from parents and warnings from doctors for the sick to seek medical attention.

“Anyone who has a medical condition should always seek advice from their doctor,” Australian Medical Association Queensland president Dr Richard Kidd said.

The group leaders claim to have had a 95 per cent success rate and to have healed more than 200 people in the past year.

Allegations are made that this a is cult, dangerous not only to those who forgo real treatment for faith healing but to the young people who are drawn to the charismatic religion style. What happens when people don’t get better? Did they not pray hard enough. Nonsense.

They are making false health claims here since faith healing has never been shown to be an effective cure for a serious disease. Very. Dangerous.

Australia is usually regarded as a secualr society but we are still prone to miraculous outbreaks – even Jesus & Mary reside here:

Hi, for a start our group are not a cult, they are full blown Christians who believe in Jesus Christ and are led by the Holy Spirit. The bible teaches us to lay hands on the sick, and what a wonderful thing it is to see someone recover and be totally healed from some form of infirmity or sickness. It’s God doing the healing not man, we are just a conduit for his awesome power. I understand the skepticism and unbelief, after all even the Pharisees and Sadducee’s the Religious people of Jesus time didn’t believe or accept him and his signs and wonders. But, being a member of this Church, I have seen and experienced and heard the mighty healing power of God. One thing no one can take away from anyone and that is their testimony, what God has done in their life, at the end of the day, there will be people who will criticise God and what he does, and that’s their choice, the wonderful thing is and one that is set in motion is that, this will continue and nothing on this earth can stop God. He want’s us saved and healed of all the hurts and illnesses this world throws at us, after all it’s the Prince of the air, Satan who prowls this earth like a roaring Lion, and God is there to counteract his evil. When you have been delivered from an Illness or emotional problems, and feel the love of God flowing through your body, you will know, and when you have the Lord Jesus in your life, you know you’re an overcomer and no matter what people say or what the skeptics say, you know you are FREE.

Yep. All you got is your story at the end of the day.

This is a science/evidence-based site. Thanks for contributing your comments but they really don’t help us towards demonstrating that faith healing does anything. However, the history of modern medicine has shown us that we need natural understanding to overcome illness, not superstition.

And, I don’t tolerate proselytizing here AT ALL. You can go do that on your own site.

At the end of the day, Jesus still loves you. People are bringing Heaven to Earth and people are being healed. Its real & its evident.

What word don’t you understand? That’s a rhetorical question. Further comments about Jesus loves me will be deleted.

I am glad people like this are a SMALL and largely totally ignored minority here in Australia…..Ignored, except when they get negative press(usually child-molestation/kidnapping and other sordid crimes, which is why they are roundly despised by the general population), as they should, but ANY press exposure is RARE….they get more press exposure from their REAL home….America.
