Former Ministry of Defence investigator Nick Pope described the snap, taken over the village of Calvine, as “compelling” evidence of alien contact.
He had it mounted on his office wall before it was removed by bosses — who later denied it had ever existed.
Mr Pope — who ran the MoD’s UFO project from 1991 to 1994 — was adamant that tests confirmed the drmatic image, from 1990, was NOT counterfeit.
He said: “It was easily the most compelling UFO photo I’ve ever seen.
He added: “I suspect that certain people thought that this was some secret prototype aircraft, a next-generation stealth that maybe nobody should be seeing.
This story appears to have been done as part of a radio show. But, we’re left with hearsay and nothing else. It isn’t valid to take such information at face value since we can’t check the facts and memory is flawed. So, nice story. But worthless.
