Mayan documentary film maker says he will reveal “every archaeologist’s nightmare”

Mayan documentary to warn humans of impending catastrophe –

Mayan writings do not predict the end of the world when the calendar cycle ends in December – but according to the producer of an upcoming documentary about the Central American civilization, they do make the sobering prediction that three-quarters of the earth’s population will be wiped out in the ensuing 15 to 20 years.

And those who live, insisted producer Raul Julia-Levy, will need to quickly colonize outer space, just as he said the Mayans did.

“This is the most critical time in human history, and mankind is going to have to face the music,” said Julia-Levy, the son of the late actor Raul Julia and producer of “Revelations of the Mayans 2012 and Beyond.”

In an exclusive interview with TheWrap, Julia-Levy claimed that his privately-financed documentary, which begins production this week in Mexico, will drop a series of bombshells that look to the future and draw connections between the Mayans and extra-terrestrials.

The revelations, he said, will be “every archaeologist’s nightmare.”

Oh really? Interesting. These dire claims go against all of the scientific consensus. It sounds like a lot of hype for your new movie. It gets worse…

Senior scientists call this Mayan apocalypse stuff a whole lotta silly but Julia-Levy says otherwise.

“I understand people are skeptical, but I got news for you,” insisted Julia-Levy. “This is not going to be a movie for UFO aficionados. We’re introducing evidence, facts and the truth.

“And according to the Mayan Council, archaeologists have been lying to the world and covering things up. They don’t know how to read the Mayan codices, and they don’t know what the Mayan Council knows.”

Those are some BIG claims. He plans to have the film out before the December doomsday. Better hurry, that leaves you not much time to capitalize on the flames of panic you are fanning. Sheesh!

I wonder how he arrives at these rather crazy assertions? In college I studied with an archaeologist who read the codices quite well. Everything he taught seemed very reasonable and backed-up by evidence. I saw no evidence of deception. It’s a rather preposterous claim.

There is no relationship whatsoever between these two links

In the spanish speaking world we already know, long time ago, that the INAH( Mexican Institute of Archeology and History) and the INGUAT (Guatemala Institute for Tourism) have denied their direct participation in this documentary. Meaning, all that Mr. Julia Levy said about the governments of Mexico and Guatemala being involved in this project is not the truth.

Also, the team of Prof. Stephen Hawking has denied the participation of Prof. Hawking in this project. (We contacted them directly and we have their answer)

You can find all these information in

although its a spanish content site, you can translate it yourself or ask somebody to translate them. Even, there is a link to a webcam interview with Mr. Julia Levy where he does not show any proof or evidence of what he states.

Finally, I even sent a mail to thewrap some months ago, with a detailed list of this information but nobody took it seriously.

If you really want to tell the truth just read the articles, if you can not translate them or you do not find the information, send me a mail, I will be happy to help you.

Alan, just read those links. Good to know we have statements from those specific institutions. I was expecting that perhaps state-level tourism institutes might be involved (I thought remember something like that in Mexico, but it may have been more about the supposed Comalcalco brick, which has no credible link to the end of the baktun in December).

Unfortunately, and I personally spoke to the authorities in the INAH and INGUAT, they are not involved in the project. They say that Mr. Julia Levy contact them to ask for permission but there is no official support from these organizations. On the other side, both institutions as you can see in the next links, are trying, somehow, to profit from the 2012 parafernalia. Guatemala INGUAT has to the right a countdown that ends in 21 Dec 2012,

Mexico has something similar, no countdown, but the slogan says “Maya world 2012, the countdown that will make history, a new era begins”

Probably, they are just trying to monetize the 2012 maya fever..

The webcam interview that Mr. Julia Levy did some months ago with Karen Alvarez, is a bad joke because he just talks and talks without providing any kind of supporting evidence.

    David Garcia

  9. April 1, 2012 at 5:46 AM

    Sr. Garcia,

Senor Brain, I read and revised your so called “reports” and there is absolutely not one single piece of evidence to support your flawless claims that “INGUAT and HAWKING” denied any involvement with the Mayan Project, anyone can copied and paste any logo from the internet, your called “reports” have no official signatures no official letters and even more not one single evidence , one has to be very ignorant and stupid to believe your false claims, please have some dignity and represent the Mexican people with respect , in my opinion you are pretty obsess with the producers of the project, and yes you do have the obligation to showed any piece of evidence to support your so called “writing” in order for people to take you serious , otherwise you are just a wannabe cheap blogger. Pongase las pilas carajo.

Mr. Brain , your level of ignorance is now elevating to another critical point , you called your self “professional” you are embarrassing your self sir, yes you are obligated to report with evidence and proofs , yes you have the obligation to be on point and correct , but you are not!, you want people to believe your crab! you need to present actual proof and evidence of your claims , i don’t care about Mr. Levy , this is about you and not him , this is about your dignity and your low level reporting sir! if you want people to pay attention to your 3 dollar website start by reporting real facts and proofs, stop slandering others. People really have to be so stupid to believe your pile of crab.

    David Gracia.

    Mr. Garcia,

I see you can write in english better than in spanish, much better actually.

I hope this set things clear for you, once and for all, I do not need to show the proof of what I said in my blog entries about this issue.

I have the official mails received from INGUAT, Prof. Hawking team, and I spoke personally with the INAH. If you do not want to believe, is up to you.

I have been a journalist for more than 15 years, and I know what I’m doing here.

If you want to see the evidence, meaning, if you want to see the documents showing the official mail routing and ips, you can have it I can send them to you, its not a problem. My website has an average of 1,000 readers per day…and its increasing.

My credibility is not the one at stake here, is Mr. Julia Levy credibility…
He has told us a story without showing not even one piece of evidence, not even one.

The first one that he showed was a picture of a maya arqueological piece and he claimed that it showed an scene related to aliens, weeks later the journal that published the picture realized that it was a well known maya arqueological piece called “Estela 19” and Mr. Julia Levy said he had mixed up the pictures and got confused and ask for apologies.

Later, Mr. Julia Levy showed a second picture, that showed a stone head, and said that an arqueologist called Hector Mejia, wrote a report for him stating that the head in the picture had alien origins. Well, some weeks later Hector Mejia said that he did not wrote anything like that and that Mr. Julia Levy had manipulated the information about the head in the picture.

The only one who really has to act and show some evidence is Mr. Julia Levy…

David Garcia: We do not allow ad hominem attacks on this site. The tone of your discussion has deteriorated to name calling. Unproductive. Your comments are now moderated.

Thanks for your input Alan. The bottom line there says it all.

  16. April 1, 2012 at 3:09 PM

David Garcia continued to make comments including disparaging, even somewhat threatening remarks towards Alan Brain (many in ALL CAPS). I have blocked him.

We do not allow propaganda, ad hominem and disrespectful comments here. However, I suspect, Alan, he follows you around quite a bit. YIKES!

Those are the breaks, I guess, for busting someone’s balloon.

Hi! Interesting article, thanks for posting it.
However, it’s not so interesting to read such offensive comments made by people who can’t defend their opinions or believes without insulting those who think differently.
In my opinion, some of the comments in Spanish should be deleted because they are quite demeaning. Specially those by Mr. David Garcia…
A final remark: If you click on Mr. Garcia’s avatar you will be directed to: So, maybe some needs to clarify his real identity??

  18. April 1, 2012 at 4:02 PM

Thank you Valerie. I did not do the translation so I did not realize those in Spanish were offensive. However, it does demonstrate how poorly his case is made – not through evidence but through threats and nasty comments. Sometimes, it’s a good thing to document how people respond. If anyone has any other comments on this, I’ll be glad to consider them regarding deletion. But, I think we may have allowed this person to utterly embarrass himself.

Very interesting last comment. Very interesting indeed…
