Did someone lose a lung?

Spring breaker finds lungs on beach

A pair of lungs found on the beach Wednesday morning is being tested to learn whether they’re human, authorities said.

The early consensus, however, is that the left and right lungs aren’t human remains, Jamaica Beach police Chief Andy McLane said.

A spring break vacationer found the lungs near one another on the sand shortly before noon in the 16800 block of the FM 3005. The lungs apparently washed ashore from the Gulf of Mexico.

Yuck! I’m not certain how this could happen unless the parts were segregated and then dumped offshore. I suppose lungs would float. But I’d like to hear an explanation for this.

UPDATE: Suspected to be from a dolphin.

I found a kidney in a dorm bathroom (communal for the entire floor) my first year in college. I don’t know if it was human, and it was quite clean so I assume it came from a biology class. And just like Bigfoot, it was able to evade photography (my camera didn’t have film in it, yes this was in the 1990s).

Like an Abbott and Costello meet the Mummy movie, it was there at 1 AM. It was there in the morning (right next to the urinal, which was particularly amusing, as if some guy had not made it in time and had exploded). And when I brought my friends to see it at lunch time … it was gone.

Clearly evidence of a secret league of organ harvesters in conflict with government agents downplaying all evidence so there isn’t a panic.
