The strange boxes of Stonefield Beach (Updated:Still no coverage)

UFO sightings at Stonefield Beach reveal strange boxes up and down coast | HULIQ.

…dog after dog barked and growled at a strange metal box that locals say “suddenly appeared at dawn Monday” after a weekend filled with what locals call intense UFO sightings. “These metal looking boxes, that are about 20 inches in height and are a complete square of five foot by five foot are sunk deep in the surf”

In turn, these boxes are “not moveable,” and they are solid and metallic and seem to have this keening wail coming from both the boxes and the atmosphere around them,” adds Errol who’s been called in to “see what’s up” by locals thinking it “has something to do with UFOs” quipped a local senior named Doris who said she also heard “a miaowing wail come from the boxes Sunday evening.”

In turn, local Oregon Forest Service fish biologists – who’ve been called in to help explain what is now been revealed as “a series of metal boxes buried into the surf up and down the Oregon coast, and possibly as far down the coast as northern California” – is more than enough to catch one’s attention, added Doris in trying to explain “what’s not explainable.”

What is known is a “sustained whine of something akin to an ambulance siren” awoke locals near Stonefield Beach and other areas of the Oregon coast Sunday evening, Jan. 5, beginning at approximately 4 a.m.

Many many questions here…Why are there no other news reports? Is this a hoax? Why haven’t officials collected the boxes? Something just isn’t right with this story.

If it’s true, are they old military boxes, Japanese tsunami debris? Stay tuned for any more info to wash up.

UPDATE (18-Feb-2012): The same person on the same website Huliq, has updated the story:

Due to a lot of local and even international interest in the nature of these strange boxes, the local Florence Police Department was contacted officially Feb. 15. In turn, a police department spokesperson named Sarah told Huliq in an interview that “we have not received any reports or complaints about these boxes.”

At the same time, boxes were seen being moved by a number of “white trucks” with heavy chains and upwards of four to six people seen pushing and then loading these strange metal boxes into the white trucks.

One local Florence couple – who stopped to exam one metal box – said in a Feb. 15 Huliq interview that “it sure looks unusual.”

Also, the couple said they were “drawn to the box,” and that “it felt warm, like nothing we’ve ever felt before.”

Still, this story has more questions than answers. It is STILL only covered by one person on one website. If you Google the story as of today, you only get links to UFO-related sites (and this one). Groundzero Radio has a discussion on this. They rail on armchair skeptics for NOT going to look at the beach themselves. However, the public relies on the “news” sites to deliver facts and have those facts backed up. Instead, we get this story that goes round in circles. That’s were the frustration comes from. Doubtful News has been looking for more information but can’t seem to find it… That makes us rightly suspicious.

Your opinion would carry more if we knew your full name and social security number. Address and full birth date, too, please.

Yeah, it’s broad daylight, most of us have auto-focus on our cameras and camera-phones, and somehow this single photograph is out of focus for some reason. If I come across something strange that just sits there, I’d max out my memory/film taking multiple pictures of whatever it was.

There would be dead sasquatch full-body shots and nostril close-ups, I’m just saying. ;-)

I’ll correct myself here; I see the other pictures now. Still, I wonder about the picture quality. I’d love to see a picture of a truck trying to haul one of these boxes away.

Demented retiree can’t lift box at local beach: film at 11. Stuff falls off container ships all the time. Perhaps it originated with the March ’11 tsunami–that would be quite interesting.

I live here in Newport and this thing is a joke. People really need to ask just a few questions who dont live here and want to know truth .
    1. If there are about 12 why is there only one picture ?
    2. If It can not be moved then why are there not multiple pictures from many other ?
    3. There are no tv cameras no police , no national guard no road blocks ect .
4.This box is in an area that wants UFO attraction notice how there are no other confirmations anywhere ?

Anyways be at peace nothing going on here but rain

To G. Johnson, I must agree with Jason. If the Guard was in there with Blackhawks, why didn’t u or ANYONE else take a picture of them? – Approach the scene? – Call your local news agency? – Record information given off local police scanners, etc?

A few years ago numerous cop cars sped by my back fence at 60+ mph (speed limit 35) over the course of 10 minutes. It took less than an additional 10 minutes to find out a local cop had been shot. WHEN SERIOUS THINGS HAPPEN, PEOPLE FIND OUT WHAT IS GOING ON… Duh

i wonder if you dropped a radio active cast into the ocean would you want the news to know about it????
not all radio active holding containers are the same shape…

warm yes well that is the question.are we getting close to the answer?

“At the same time, boxes were seen being moved by a number of “white trucks” with heavy chains and upwards of four to six people seen pushing and then loading these strange metal boxes into the white trucks.”

And as of yet, no pictures of this happening. Or any other pictures. (let me guess, they are being suppressed…)

And has anyone contacted the “local Oregon Forest Service fish biologists” to see if they have
    1. Actually investigated
    2. Actually been called
    3. Actually exist?
And why would one call a biologist to investigate a Metal box?
It all adds up to something that sounds like bad fiction.
