Non-human Mummy of Peru? You can say anything on the Internet. (UPDATE – Not aliens)

Freaky “Non-Human” Mummy Found In Peru [Pictures].

Today Renato Davila Riquelme, an anthropologist that works for the Privado Ritos Andinos museum in Cusco, announced the findings of the strange and freaky mummy you see before you. The remains, which are 50cm [20 inches] tall, were thought to be those of a child until Spanish and Russian doctors said otherwise

“It has a non-human appearance because the head is triangular and big, almost the same size as the body. At first we believed it to be a child’s body until Spanish and Russian doctors came and confirmed that, yes, it’s an extraterrestrial being.”

The website has a gallery of photos. It sure is weird but as the article says, it is outrageous to say this is an extraterrestrial when it is clearly human, just deformed.

And clearly, Russian doctors are over zealous in their pronouncements of bizarre things. Where is the scientific examination? Nope, press release first. Questions answered later.

UPDATE: So, these are not aliens, as you may have guessed. A Spanish site provides a more reasonable explanation. They are…

…two pre-Hispanic infants who underwent cranial deformation processes. According to the chroniclers of the colonial era, these practices were promoted by the Inca Manco Capac and later by his grandson, the Inca Yupanqui Lloque. The Regional Directorate of Culture Cuscoevaluates says the origin of these skeletal remains and other cultural elements found in Andahuaylillas are the result of looting. How the heck did they “confirm” that it’s an extraterrestrial being? Is there some gene database somewhere that they base it on? Some kind of “alien litmus test”? What a bunch of nonsense.

It reminds me of the crystal skulls, What is found in Cuzco, should stay in Cuzco. It looks tragic and unfortunate. Cuzco has beautiful ruins and beautiful skulls, this is not one of them
