Ghostly face appears in the water

This story is from earlier this week but is now making the rounds around the Internet.

Mystery figure appears in photo taken by vacationing family.

The particular photo of the water over the wreckage, with oil shimmering, shows an image that looks like a face.

“It just looked really sad, really sad and young. The face, to me looked young, which I don’t know if it represents the men at that time who perished.”

Pareidolia! We see faces in everything. It’s a compelling photos but in no way is it evidence for a spirit. We can be amused by such spooky things but it’s not helpful to attach unwarranted, metaphysical meaning to them.

I’m the last one to believe this sort of thing, but that DOES look like a face. For Pareidolia to stick, does it not need to be a bit more ambiguous ? My first guess would be a good Photoshop job.

March 4th I was baptized. (fully submerged) A friend of mine took pictures of me with her phone, she emailed me the photos and I posted them on Facebook. When you submit your photos Facebook auto detects faces, so if you wanted you could tag them in your photo. It detected all the children’s faces in all of the photos except one, the face it did detect was not the children it was a face in the water right next to the gown I was wearing. The crazy thing of all, it’s the photo taken after I was brought up out of the water and had started praying with my pastor. What does that mean?
