Penn and Teller Tell A Lie premiers Oct 5

Penn & Teller Tell A Lie : Discovery Channel.

Penn & Teller bring their unique vision of the world in a new interactive series with a twist. In each episode, Penn & Teller make up to seven outrageous claims. While most of the wildly unbelievable stories are absolutely, positively true – one of them is a BIG FAT LIE. It will be up to viewers to spot the fake and VOTE LIVE online or with the new GUESS THE LIE app.

Sad to see Bullshit! is gone but I’m excited for this show! Premiers at 10PM EST after Mythbusters, appropriately enough.

I love P&T, but didn’t they blatantly steal this from “Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me”?

I don’t even care if they borrowed a concept.

At the moment, there is a show on Dutch TV show in which consumer complains are handled in a comedic way, through sketches. at least two earlier shows did exactly the same.

Do I mind? Not really. At least not unless someone will say that the idea is original.

And if I guess P&T’s character correctly, they will not deny resemblances with other programs if they apply.

I also look forward to it.

I caught the premier and I really liked the show. I have always liked Mythbusters and I have been a Penn and Teller fan for a long time. I have always loved their twisted brand of comedy mixed with magic. I didn’t know viewers could vote online or use an app to vote too. That makes the show kind of fun and interactive. I expect that there will be some cool pyrotechnics or explosions as it does follow Mythbusters. I love watching the Discovery channel in HD from DISH Network, my employer. They have the most HD channels available nationally. Everything I watch comes in clear and crisp. Watching things blow up in anything but HD should be a crime.
