Paranormal group raising money to save building for ghost hunters

Paranormal group hopes haunted house is 1st step to saving old Radford mental hospital | The Republic.

A paranormal research team hopes turning a former Radford mental hospital into a haunted house next month will be a step toward saving the more than century-old building.

…the Mountain Ridge Paranormal Research Society hopes to collect about $4,000 from the haunted house, plus more money from renting out the facility to other paranormal investigators.

This is not uncommon – paranormal research teams often raise money for local historical sites. But the disturbing trend is for historical places to charge investigation teams to spend a night there. It’s paranormal tourism and it’s a bit low.
